This Antigua
cottage plan is a design created in response to many who
have
asked us to produce plans for smaller, more modest cottages while
maintaining the detail and charm of our larger homes. This cottage plan is based on
its larger cousin "The Martinique" but it is designed as a 1-1/2
story home with large wrapping verandahs at the first level only. A
nice feature of this cottage plan is that it provides a convenient 1st floor office with an exterior entrance
to separate client and personal spaces. The room could also be used as a bedroom,
formal dining
or family room.
The Great Room is quite large for a small house and offers a huge covered verandah with numerous French doors for walk out access and cross ventilation. The large kitchen with seating bar opens directly onto the Great Room and features a center island, lots of built-in storage space and direct access to a walk-in pantry. The upper sleeping level provides for two complete bedroom suites with romantic sloped ceilings over 12 feet tall, each has a walkout roof top balcony and tons of storage in the sloped attic space.
With its wide open design and gracious amount of outdoor space, this cottage plan would make an ideal beach house or mountain retreat almost anywhere.
